SCAYLE brings supercomputing closer to businesses

"Supercomputing and business innovation in Castilla y León" was organized by the Department of Mobility and Digital Transformation of the Junta de Castilla y León together with the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations CEOE CEPYME Salamanca, and SCAYLE. The aim of the event was to promote, among Salamanca entrepreneurs, the role of high-performance computing in the smart, sustainable, and cohesive digital transformation of both SMEs and public administration entities.

The Councilor for Digital Transformation, Jorge Llorente Cachorro; the Director of the Supercomputing Center of Castilla y León (SCAYLE), Vicente Matellán; and the President of CEOE CEPYME Salamanca, Diego García Hernández, inaugurated the conference. AIR Institute also participated in the event and took this opportunity to share the successful results of one of its projects.

SCAYLE and AIR Institute are partners, together with ICE, the University of León, DIH-LEF and DIHBU, in the DIGIS3 hub, an ambitious project that seeks to promote the smart, sustainable, and cohesive digitalization of SMEs and public sector organizations in Castilla y León. At the conference, the Director of the Supercomputing Center highlighted the myriad of possibilities offered by this powerful infrastructure to improve business competitiveness.

In the case of AIR Institute, researcher Ángel Canal presented the achievements of the AIR-Genomics project, which aims to develop a genomic analysis platform based on explainable artificial intelligence for use in clinical practice. Alberto Cerrillo, co-founder & CEO of Vexiza, also participated in the conference and commented on the work being carried out in the implementation of cloud solutions for data analysis.
