AIR Institute reaches an important agreement with Microsoft for the development of artificial intelligence projects

AIR Institute and the BISITE Research Group have joined forces with Microsoft to spearhead research and development projects in the field of artificial intelligence. AIR Institute and Microsoft partner Wembley Studios have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly bring their technology to the Microsoft Azure cloud environment to offer new services to Microsoft and future partners. They will also collaborate on joint technology developments involving the use of large Generative AI engines.

The agreement was sealed at Microsoft’s La Finca facilities in Madrid, in Pozuelo de Alarcón, within the framework of the Generative Artificial Intelligence and Copilot event in which the president of AIR Institute, Juan Manuel Corchado, participated. There, he presented the Institute’s lines of research and its priorities in the short and medium term in the field of generative artificial intelligence, an area in which the Institute is already working with large companies, SMEs and entrepreneurs.

“This is the beginning of a new partnership between institutions in Salamanca and one of the largest technology companies in the world and it will help companies stay at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence solutions”. This remark by Felix Velasco, chief digital officer of Wembley Studios, encapsulates the importance of the agreement. In addition, Eduardo Corrochano, Manager at Microsoft, presented Github Copilot and explained how this AI tool works and how it improves programmers’ work with code. A roundtable was also held at which Eduardo CorrochanoJavier Ovejero, CEO of Wembley Studios, and Juan Manuel Corchado analyzed the future challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the fields of education, business and talent recruitment and retention.

The managers of leading companies such as Cepsa, Opengy, Telecoming, Gesvalt, Sodexo and Arrow attended the event, which marked the beginning of the collaboration with Microsoft.
