“Salamanca Tech. Quantum Technology" brings two new conferences

Quantum computing is considered the technology of the future, with the potential to revolutionize fields as diverse as computing, economics, and finance, but also medicine, chemistry, energy, logistics and cybersecurity. A promising technology, as will be shown by the experts who on Friday, 27 October, will meet at the conference "Salamanca Tech. Quantum Technology", organized by the AIR Institute.

The Councilor for Economic Development, Commerce, Markets and Youth, Pedro Martínez Córdoba; the Vice Rector for Academic Planning of the University of Salamanca, David Díez Martín; and the President of the AIR Institute and Director of the BISITE Research Group, Juan Manuel Corchado, will be in charge of welcoming the attendees to the event at the new headquarters of the AIR Institute.

At 10:30 a.m., Pablo Cabricano Sánchez, head of Quantum at NTT Data Spain, will speak about the practical applications of quantum computing.  Half an hour later, Guillermo Rivas Oliveros, an expert who recently joined the AIR Institute, will discuss the power of quantum technology in the world of finance.

After the break, it will be time to share different points of view. Juan Manuel Corchado will moderate a roundtable on "Technology, Science and Engineering", in which, in addition to Pablo Cabricano Sánchez, other experts will participate, including Vicente Matellán Olivera, General Director of the Castilla y León Supercomputing Center Foundation (SCAYLE); Juan Ignacio Benito Fiz, RPA and Data manager at NTT Data; Kevin Corella Nieto, centers service leader for AI Project/Service Development & Quantum Machine Learning at NTT Data; Manuel Pino García, postdoc at the Department of Fundamental Physics of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Salamanca; and Javier Parra Domínguez, coordinator of the Quantum Economics & Technology Experience Lab and Professor at the University of Salamanca.

The conference is an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in quantum computing and understand the reasons why it is a strategic sector within multinationals.

This event will be an addition to those organized in the last five months under the Salamanca Tech brand dedicated to digital industry and smart tourism, technological innovation in the primary sector and the aeronautical industry as an engine for technological development.
