Centr@tec's face-to-face AI training session for AIR Institute staff comes to a close

From 13 to 17 November, part of the AIR Institute staff, especially the artificial intelligence team, received training in probabilistic modelling from Mauricio A. Álvarez, an expert in AI and Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Manchester.

Mauricio works on the development of new probabilistic models and on their application across a range of engineering and scientific areas, including neuroscience, neural engineering, systems biology, and humanoid robotics. He has shared his knowledge with researchers at the AIR Institute, in the R&D&i Building of the University of Salamanca, on subjects such as statistical inference, prediction models, Bayesian estimation, machine learning, linear regression, factored distributions, Gaussian processes, and others.

Although the on-site training concluded on Friday, online sessions will continue next week to deepen some aspects that will be particularly useful in the different national and international projects of which AIR Institute is part.
